The My Files area is where you can upload, manage, and organize your documents and folders in Similarity and SimCheck. This guide outlines the main elements of the page and how you can use them.
The My Files inbox displays all your uploaded files and any folders you’ve created. Each item includes key information:
- Title - Displays the name of the file or folder.
- Files are marked with a document icon
- Folders are marked with a folder icon
- You can select the title to open or expand a folder
- Author - Shows the name of the person who uploaded the file.
- For files you uploaded, your name will appear here
- Folders do not show an author
- Similarity - Displays the Similarity Report score for uploaded documents.
- This shows the percentage of text that matches sources in Turnitin’s database
- A color-coded indicator appears next to the score (e.g., red for high similarity)
- AI writing (for accounts with AI writing detection capabilities enabled) - The AI writing detection score. If there is no AI report, dashes will be shown.
- Date added - Indicates when the file or folder was uploaded or created
- You can select the Date added column header to sort items by date
AI writing score
For organizations that have access to and have enabled AI writing detection, you’ll see an AI Writing column in the assignment’s inbox. This column displays the AI writing scores for each submission.
In order to view the AI scores in the submission list, a disclaimer must first be reviewed and accepted. If the disclaimer is not accepted, the AI scores will be blurred within the inbox. You only need to accept the disclaimer once.
